Adopt-A-Storm Drain
Local volunteers are stepping up to protect water quality through the Adopt-A-Storm Drain Program. Stormwater runoff pollution is the single greatest threat to clean water in our urban streams. Stormwater is simply rain that runs off the landscape instead of soaking into the ground — and as it travels, it picks up pollutants along the way, carrying them into storm drains and, ultimately, into the nearest stream.

What to Expect:
Choose a storm drain near you: outside your home, your workplace, or along a route you walk or run regularly. When you adopt it, you're committing to check on it between rainstorms and clear away any litter or debris that's built up. That's it! Just a pair of gloves and a trash bag. In just a few minutes, you'll help keep our water clean and stop clogged drains from causing street flooding.
